Shotcut for Mac FAQ

Can I double-click the Shotcut APK on my Mac?

No. macOS has no built-in way to open APK files. They only run inside an Android emulator.

The emulator is slow

Close other heavy apps, give the virtual device more memory in the emulator settings and keep macOS up to date. Exports are faster on a phone or with desktop Shotcut.

ShotCut says it is not compatible

Some features need Google Play services. In Android Studio, create the virtual device from a system image that includes Google Play.
