How to Download and Install Shotcut APK on Android
Install the latest Shotcut APK, version 3.8.0, on any phone or tablet running Android 8.0 or later. The whole process takes about two minutes and changes one setting.

Install the Shotcut APK Step by Step
Menu names vary a little between Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi, Oppo and other phones, but the steps are the same on every Android 8.0+ device.
- Check that your phone is compatibleOpen Settings, About phone and look for Android version. ShotCut AI needs 8.0 or later, plus free storage for the app and your video projects.
- Download the Shotcut APKOpen this page in Chrome and use the download box above. The file saves to your Downloads folder.
- Allow installs from your browserWhen Android asks, open Settings and turn on Allow from this source. On most phones it sits under Settings, Apps, Special app access, Install unknown apps.
- Install the appTap the download notification, or open Files, then Downloads, and tap the Shotcut APK. Choose Install.
- Open ShotCut and grant accessAllow access to photos and videos so the editor can import your clips. You can now switch the unknown apps setting off again.
How to Update to the Latest Shotcut APK Version
If you installed ShotCut from Google Play, updates arrive automatically. If you installed an APK file, download the newer official Shotcut APK and install it over the app you already have. Android keeps your drafts because the app signature matches.
- Check your current version under Settings, Apps, ShotCut, then scroll to the app details.
- Do not uninstall before updating, or drafts stored inside the app are deleted.
- A mod APK cannot update over the official app. The signatures differ, so Android refuses the install.
Shotcut APK Troubleshooting
I see an “App not installed” message
Usually a different copy of ShotCut is already installed, such as a mod APK with another signature, or the phone is low on storage. Uninstall the other copy, free some space and install the official Shotcut APK again.
“There was a problem parsing the package”
The download did not finish, or your phone runs a version older than Android 8.0. Download the file again, then check your Android version in Settings.
Play Protect warns me before installing
Play Protect checks apps installed outside Google Play. Make sure the app shows Shotcut Video Workshop as the developer and video.editor.videomaker.effects.fx as the package. If it does not, cancel the install.
ShotCut crashes when I open it
Clear the app cache under Settings, Apps, ShotCut, Storage, then open it again. If it still crashes, the developer asks users to write to getsupport@shotcut.app.
